Senior SWE: Kubernetes Developer

Summary

We've got a big backend and we're proud of it! Normcore's servers span the globe and relay billions of minutes of audio, video, and gameplay streams every month. Our cloud infrastructure needs to scale intelligently and be compatible with all major cloud providers.

We make heavy use of Kubernetes, Node, and Typescript to do this. As a developer on the team, you'll be responsible for designing and developing cloud infrastructure systems at Normal.

Key Qualifications

• Previous professional experience in a Systems Admin or DevOps role in a live/production environment.
• Hands-on experience with Kubernetes + Docker, and Node + Typescript is required for this role.
• Experience with real-time, low-latency cloud infrastructure.
• Proficiency with cloud deployments using Kubernetes and Google Cloud is required for this role.
• Proven ability to utilize CI/CD tools and manage multiple repositories is a huge plus.
• C++ experience is a plus, but not required for this role.
• Strong written and oral communication skills.

Description

We’re looking for someone who has successfully built and scaled a backend on Kubernetes + Docker. In this role you'll design and architect systems that need to scale to millions of concurrent users. Bonus points if you've previously worked on cloud infrastructure for real-time + low-latency services.

Education

Bachelor of Science / Computer Science, or equivalent professional experience.
